Learn this powerful tool to make vision boards for creating and manifesting your best home and life!

What is a vision board ?

Also referred to as a ‘mood board’ or’ inspiration board’, vision boards are collages of images, words and colors that illustrate where you want to go.  They include  pictures of things and feelings and atmospheres you want to create in your life.  They can be made for anything:  getting a job you want, creating healthy habits, manifesting your dream house, taking a trip or decorating your home.

When you surround yourself with images of what you want, places you want to visit, where you want to live or who you want to become, your life moves in those directions.

Give your goals and dreams your attention, and you’ll get there.  Making a vision board is a fun and effective way to create things in your life.

Envisioning your goals and dreams this way adds clarity to your plans and brings emotion to your visions.  You are creating a beautiful story that comes to life and allows you to experience how you will feel when you are sitting on your new porch, or on the beach in Barbados, or living a healthier lifestyle.

What you’ll need

Gather the supplies shown below.  It is best to have as many magazines as you can in order to find enough things you want to tear out that you really love.  You can use posterboard or foamcore from an art supply store.  Size is up to you.

I use a glue stick or double sided tape… liquid glue can make the pages wavy.

Here are some magazines I like using:

  • House Beautiful
  • Better Homes and Gardens
  • Elle Decor
  • Real Simple
  • Martha Stewart Living
  • Country Living
  • This Old House
  • dwell
  • Architectural Digest
  • Veranda
  • Traditional Home
  • Metropolitan Home
  • O Magazine
  • Fast Company
  • Money
  • Yoga Journal
  • Parenting

Pull out as many tears as you like, then start cutting out the pieces you might use on your board,  arranging, rearranging and deleting as you see fit.  This is all you!  You can take as long as you want to do it.  and guess what?

If you go with your gut, and select things that move you, you will love your vision board.

Have fun with this project!
When you are finished, and happy with your creation, place it where you can see it regularly.

Frequent reminders of your vision and the feelings and atmosphere you want to have will help you cement your ideas and create your best home, and life.
